HYROX went to Phoenix (USA) for the first time, with an event held from 29th-31st January at the State Farm Stadium – home of the Arizona Cardinals – making it the first fitness racing event ever to be staged inside a full-scale American Football stadium.
Leveraging the scale and prestige of an NFL venue, the HYROX Phoenix Major transformed State Farm Stadium into a vast, purpose-built fitness racing colosseum, capable of hosting up to 50,000 spectators and accommodating up to 15,000 athletes – making it one of the largest HYROX events ever held in the United States.
The event came as part of significant momentum in the US, with HYROX participation surging more than 300% year-on-year and events selling out at unprecedented speed.
Douglas Gremmen, Chief Growth Officer at HYROX commented: “Staging HYROX inside an NFL stadium is not only a milestone for us, it’s a milestone for the entire sport. State Farm Stadium offers an unrivalled stage to deliver a race experience of a completely new magnitude. Phoenix represents everything we aim for as we continue expanding across the US: passionate community energy, world-class sporting infrastructure and an appetite for high-intensity competition. The HYROX Phoenix Major will set a new global benchmark for what a fitness racing event can be.”
The event hosted the third Elite 15 Major race of the 2025/26 season, which was livestreamed, with Rox Lyfe’s Greg Williams on the commentary team, as athletes battled it out on the Road to the HYROX World Championships in Stockholm in June 2026.
