HYROX Cape Town

The first HYROX South Africa event was held in Cape Town on 21st September 2024 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

The event saw British athlete Jake Dearden taking part to try to cement his place in the Elite 15.

This was the first race with the new requirement for the Women to complete 100 wall balls in the Individual Open and Open Doubles. Therefore all of the Age Group winners in these categories have set new World Records. You can find out more about the new rules on our podcast with HYROX Co-Founder Mo Fuerste here.

Men’s Pro

The Men’s Pro was won by Jake Dearden in a time of 00:56:53. This moves Jake up to 13th place in the Major Qualification Rankings and guarantees his spot in the Elite 15 race in Amsterdam on 10th October 2024.

Second was Trent Smith in 01:02:36.

Third place was taken by Samir Schoen in a time of 01:04:12.

Women’s Pro

The Women’s Pro was won by Vicky Macintosh in a time of 01:05:33.

Second was Charlotte Haglund in 01:06:11.

Third place was taken by Danél Louw in a time of 01:07:12.

Pro Doubles

The Men’s Pro Doubles was won by Estian Ferreira and Daniel Griesel in a time of 00:58:28.

The Women’s Pro Doubles was won by Danielle Jordaan and Lucinda Bosch in a time of 01:13:41.

Men’s Open

The Men’s Open was won by Antoine Van Heerden in a time of 01:02:35.

Second was Devon Usher in 01:03:07.

Third place was taken by Sean Wentzel in a time of 01:05:21.

Women’s Open

The Women’s Open was won by Holly Archer in a time of 01:05:54.

Second was Moncheri Bronkhorst in 01:09:29.

Third place was taken by Sabrina Bottyan in a time of 01:10:27.

Open Doubles

The Men’s Open Doubles was won by Joe Greenslade-Cross and Chris Moulin-Jones in a time of 00:54:29.

The Women’s Open Doubles was won by Selina Eichelbroenner and Christy Nell in a time of 01:06:42.

The Mixed Open Doubles was won by George Crewe and Danielle Crewe in a time of 00:57:57.
