HYROX went to Cardiff in Wales for the very first time, with an event at the Principality Stadium (the Wales national stadium) from May 30th – June 1st 2025. The next event in Cardiff will be even bigger, running from 29th May – 4th June 2026!
The growth of HYROX in the UK, in particular, has been huge, with events selling out extremely quickly. There had been calls for another UK event, and this event in Wales, and the first stadium event in the UK, was a fitting next step for the sport.
Despite the size of the stadium, which seats nearly 75000 spectators, the course itself wasn’t huge by HYROX standards, with 3 – 3.5 laps running required per km run. That didn’t make for the fastest racing we’ve ever seen, but there were still a number of impressive performances across the few days.  Â
As the race was so close to the 2025 World Championship, HYROX announced that anyone finishing in a World Championship qualifying spot at this race could decide whether they want to race in this year’s World Championship in Chicago (12-15 June 2025), or carry their qualifying spot forward to the 2026 World Championship.
