HYROX returned to Maastricht for a 3 day event from 19th – 21st September 2025 at MECC Maastricht.
This was the final chance for athletes to set a time that could make them eligible for the Elite 15 races in Hamburg (which will be the first “Major” of the 25/26 season. There were, therefore, a number of the top names in the sport racing.
One point of news from the event was some delayed start times (of up to 30mins) for some waves of athletes. This is something extremely rare in HYROX and was seemingly caused by the fact that as the days went on, the venue was getting too hot and became a health and safety issue. Thankfully all races could go ahead after the venue had cooled down.
HYROX Maastricht Results
Read on for the main results from the event…
Men’s Pro
A stacked Men’s Pro division featured many notable names in the sport trying to improve their average times in order to qualify for the Hamburg Major.
There were some incidents in the races – Graham Halliday received a penalty at the burpee broad jumps and Richard Hynek was penalised for throwing water over his head – one of the new rules for this season. Sean Noble, who will compete in the Elite 15 in Hamburg, disqualified himself from the race after walking off of the course at the wall balls where he had been given 22 no-reps in a row due to depth.
The division was ultimately won by Liam McCroary in a time of 00:56:33 – a time that improved his position to 27th in the Major ranking, but not enough to automatically qualify for Hamburg but with this win – against seriously strong competition – he has shown he is one to watch for the future.
Second was Belgian Louis Osselaer in 00:57:18, and third place was taken by Maarten Enthoven in a time of 00:57:47.
Women’s Pro
The Women’s Pro was won by Stefanie Oswald in a time of 01:01:56 – a fantastic performance in only her third singles race that improves her Major ranking position to 15th – and qualifying her for the Hamburg Major.
Second was the Spaniard Manuela García Caparrós in 01:03:17, and third place was taken by Danél Louw in a time of 01:03:23.
Men’s Pro Doubles
The Men’s Pro Doubles division was won by the 2024 and 2025 Elite 15 Men’s World Champions – Alexander Roncevic and Tim Wenisch in a time of 00:49:26. This is the 2nd best ever Men’s Pro doubles time, thus qualifying them for the Hamburg Major.
Second place was taken by Alexis Bernier and Marko Nicic in a time of 00:50:58, placing them in 23rd in the Major rankings – which may be enough to qualify for the Hamburg major as many of the men ranked above them are featured more than once in the rankings with different partners – watch this space!
Women’s Pro Doubles
The Women’s Pro Doubles was won by Gabriella Moriarty and Zara Piergianni in a time of 00:57:19 – this puts them into 15th place in the Major Ranking, qualifying them for the Hamburg Major.
Melanie Maurer and Jennifer Nikolaus (2nd place, 00:57:39) and Camilla Massa and Seka Arning (3rd place, 00:57:41) have put themselves into 17th and 18th positions in the Major Rankings – which will qualify both teams for the Hamburg Major on roll downs.
