The next HYROX London event will take place across 3 days from 29th November to 1st December 2024 at the London Excel.

HYROX has announced the launch of a new ballot system for the public to purchase race tickets for the event.

This decision follows the surge in popularity in recent years, with participation levels growing by a staggering 1,000% since 2017.  They say the ballot aims to give prospective athletes a fairer chance at securing a race ticket.

HYROX events in London, in particular, have seen a huge spike in uptake; the most recent race in London Olympia (reviewed below) boasted more than 12,500 athletes over a three-day period; close to double compared to the same event in 2023. Due to this unprecedented demand, a ballot system was, they say, the natural next step.

The window for entry into the ballot is from Thursday 23rd May for 7 days. Athletes can access the ballot on the official HYROX website only.

HYROX Co-Founder, Christian Tötzke said: “Our choice to introduce a ballot system for F45 HYROX London marks a significant step in enhancing our competitor experience and offering equal footing for every person wishing to take part in HYROX. Having to introduce a ballot system is testament to not only the growth of HYROX but society’s growing focus on the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle.”

HYROX London – May 2024

The latest HYROX London event was held at the London Olympia, over 3 days, from Saturday 4th May to Monday 6th May.  It was the biggest HYROX event to date with approximately 12,000 athletes particpating over the weekend (plus several thousand spectators).

The event was the final UK HYROX event of the season and was spectacular.  It was held in a greater amount of hall space than was seen at the previous Olympia event.

Those competing included Olympic great Eve Muirhead (check out our recent podcast with her here), Zack George (aka Steel the Gladiator), and Rox Lyfe’s Greg Williams and Paul Gillingham teamed up in the Men’s Doubles.

Read on for the main results of the day…

Men’s Pro

The Men’s Pro was won in impressive fashion by Sean Noble in a time of 00:59:09.

Second was Sam Craig in 01:01:16.

Third place was taken by Andy Sloan in a time of 01:01:25.

Women’s Pro

The Women’s Pro was won by Eve Muirhead in a time of 01:06:37.  This is just a second Pro HYROX race for Eve and was a 10 minute improvement over her previous time.  We said after interviewing her on the Rox Lyfe podcast last year that if she focuses on the sport she can really be someone to watch as a contender for reaching the Elite 15 and she is certainly starting to show that.  She’ll next be racing in Nice at the World Championships and is surely a contender for an age group podium.

Second was Jen Howard in 01:08:51, and third place was taken by Jodie Digby in a time of 01:09:06.

Men’s Open

The Men’s Open was won by Charlie Botterill in an incredible time of 00:56:27 – a World Record in the 16-24 Age Group! It was also his second race of the weekend after racing in the Pro division the evening before. You can catch our chat with Charlie here (it’s one of our most popular episodes this year).

Second was Ed Parsons in 00:58:33.

Third place was taken by Aaron Docherty in a time of 00:59:14.

Women’s Open

The Women’s Open was won by Sinead Bent in a time of 01:01:50.

Second was Jayne Nisbet in 01:03:20.

Third place was taken by Natasha White in a time of 01:04:10.

Pro Doubles

The Men’s Pro Doubles was won by Jordan Bryant and Tom Hogan in a time of 00:53:41.  This was the 10th fastest time ever in the Pro Doubles division and the second race of the weekend for both gents, with Jordan having already won the Open Doubles division on Saturday (see below).

The Women’s Pro Doubles was won by Sam Pretty and Jodie Digby in a time of 01:01:11.

Open Doubles

The Women’s Open Doubles was won by Lucy Hammett and Rhiannon Kirk in a time of 01:01:26.

The Mixed Open Doubles was won by Geordie Stewart and Kate Harrison in a time of 00:55:35.

The Men’s Open Doubles was won by Harry Thompson and Jordan Bryant in a time of 00:52:42.

Sports Direct Partnership

Sports Direct were announced as HYROX’s title partner for the London event, and their Oxford Street store was the home for competitors to complete their early registration. They also offered people the opportunity to win high-performance gear from the PUMA HYROX collection and provided a taste of what the competition has to offer through three workout stations —consisting of rowing machines, assault runners and skiergs.

Live DJs performed in store to pump up attendees, and PUMA HYROX ambassadors, Faisal Abdalla and Gede Foster, were on-site providing last minute advice.

To complete the preparation, Sports Direct and PUMA also hosted a series of gym classes for fitness enthusiasts of all levels in the FLANNELS store across the street from the Sports Direct Oxford Street location on the 2nd May and a run club with MyProtein on the 3rd.

Frasers Group CEO, Michael Murray said: “HYROX shares Sports Direct’s ambition to make sports accessible to all as it is a race designed to accommodate both professional athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts. I am a big believer in fitness and well-being, and nobody has captured the fitness space and created hype quite like HYROX has. We’re excited to see how seasoned competitors and first-timers perform in the race with the support of our in-store activities, and how many of our shoppers feel inspired to take their training to the next level.”

HYROX founder, Christian Totzke said: “We believe that HYROX is the healthiest form of competition on earth, it’s a sport which anyone can compete in and it’s great for us to see Sports Direct with its huge reach and depth of consumer support our journey. Our mission is to connect the world’s training communities through our sport, training and lifestyle and there are few better conduits for that mission than Sports Direct which already serves as a townhall for so many different sports, brands and people”.
