HYROX returned to Hong Kong on 23rd and 24th November 2024 for the Asian Open Championships (there were no Pro divisions).

The event also featured the second Elite 15 Major races of the season, which was held on the Friday night. More information on the Elite race season structure can be found here. The Elite races were streamed live on YouTube, with Greg from Rox Lyfe on the commentary once again. You can catch up with the races below.

Read on for the main results of the weekend…

Elite Women

The Women’s Elite was won by young Australian athlete Joanna Wietrzyk in a time of 00:59:58.

Second was Lauren Weeks in 01:00:31.

Third place was taken by Kate Davey in a time of 01:02:37 – qualifying her for the World Championship in Chicago in June 2025.

Joanna and Lauren had already claimed their World Championships spots at the Amsterdam Major, so the qualifying places roll down to Ida Mathilde Steensgaard in 4th (01:02:46) and Lauren Griffith in 5th place (01:03:26).

Elite Men

In another win for the Australians, the Men’s Elite was won by James Kelly in a time of 00:55:16

Second was Tim Wenisch in 00:56:22.

Third place was taken by Graham Halliday in a time of 00:57:09.

James had already claimed his World Championships spot at the Amsterdam Major, so the qualifying places go to Tim, Graham, and Pelayo Menendez Fernandez in 4th (00:57:25).

Women’s Open

The Women’s Open was won by Maire McGinley in a time of 01:03:57.

Second was Rachel O’Connor in 01:04:54.

Third place was taken by Aki Yoshida in a time of 01:05:49.

Men’s Open

The Men’s Open was won by Lee Tuck in a time of 00:59:24. You can check out our podcast with Lee here.

Second was Ross Walker in 00:59:33.

Third place was taken by Kitae Nam in a time of 01:00:56.

Open Doubles

The Men’s Open Doubles was won by Callum Meehan and Gabe Heck in a time of 00:50:37.

The Women’s Open Doubles was won by Joanna Wietrzyk and Maddi Wilde in a time of 01:01:21.

The Mixed Open Doubles was won by Seka Arning and Tim Wenisch in a time of 00:53:26.
