Ploj and Stroschneider Win Close Pro Battles at HYROX Gdansk

Slovenia’s Alen Ploj and Austria’s Tanja Stroschneider claimed the Pro Singles titles at HYROX Gdansk 2026, with both races decided by narrow margins.

The weekend also saw strong performances in the Pro Doubles divisions, including an impressive victory for British pairing Sophia Parvizi Wayne and Chloe Cook.

The event took place on 10-11th October 2026 at AmberExpo in Poland.

Women’s Pro

Tanja Stroschneider (AUT) earned top honours in the Women’s Pro division, stopping the clock at 1:00:50. Stroschneider was pushed throughout by Caitlin Tweed (GBR), ultimately maintaining a fine 14-second advantage over the line.

Lea Sophie Pommerening (GER) finished in third place with a time of 1:01:53, nearly a minute behind Tweed, while Megan Platten (GBR) took fourth place in 1:02:58.

Men’s Pro

The Men’s Pro division came down to a closely fought finish, with Alen Ploj (SLO) taking first place in 57:02. Ploj held on under pressure from Tomas Tvrdik (CZE), who finished just 6 seconds behind in 57:08.

Jude Reynolds (GBR) completed the podium in third position with a time of 57:33, crossing 25 seconds behind Tvrdik, while fellow Briton Jesse Owen claimed fourth place in 58:19.

Pro Doubles

In the Women’s Pro Doubles, Sophia Parvizi Wayne and Chloe Cook (GBR) put together a standout performance to win in 54:58. They created a clear margin over the field, finishing almost two minutes ahead of runners-up Malene Pedersen and Frida Reiersølmoen (56:53). Jo Smith and Lucie Bourne rounded out the top three in 1:00:29.

In the Men’s Pro Doubles, Kieron White and Conor Maguire (IRL) took top spot with a time of 51:21. They built a 26-second margin over Polish pair Maciej Węgorzewski and Krystian Patryk Poremba (51:47). Norwegian duo Daniel Rørvik and André Sødlund claimed third spot in 53:23.
