The latest HYROX Amsterdam event was a huge 3 day event, taking place from 10-13th October 2024, at the RAI Amsterdam.
The event was also kicked off on the Thursday night with the first Elite 15 Major races of the season. The race was streamed on You Tube, which you can catch up on here. Once again, Rox Lyfe’s Greg Williams was on the commentary team. More information on the Elite races and the structure for the season can be found here.
Read on for the main results from the event…
Elite Women
A very exciting Women’s race ultimately came down to another head-to-head between former world champion Lauren Weeks and reigning world champion Meg Jacoby – with Lauren eventually taking the win by 32 seconds.
The race was extremely close in the early stations, with Camilla Massa coming out of the sled push in the lead (after an incredible push), then Lauren Griffith and elite race rookie Joanna Wietrzyk leading into the sled pull. Weeks and Jacoby were back into 1st and 2nd from the Burpee Broad Jumps onwards, and it stayed that way to the finish.
Joanna Wietrzyk, making the journey from Australia, rounded off the podium with an incredible performance on her Elite 15 debut. Lauren, Megan and Joanna earn their spot at the 2025 World Championships in Chicago.

Elite Men
The Men’s race was equally exciting, with James Kelly pushing reigning World Champion Alexander Roncevic for the duration of the race, culminating in a wall-ball-off. Ultimately Alex was able to go unbroken on the wall balls, despite some no-reps, to cross the line in first place.
Rylan Shadegg took the final podium spot – an incredible achievement after a long break from the sport following illness. Rylan told Greg from Rox Lyfe that this race would be his ‘goodbye’ to the sport as he’d been suffering with illness for so long, but hopefully following this outstanding performance we will see him take his place in the World Championships in Chicago.
The rest of the race was extremely close – with just 48 seconds separating 4th and 11th positions.
