HYROX hosted an event in Italy for the first time on 2nd and 3rd June 2023. This was a 2-day event at the Fiera di Rimini IEG and formed part of the Rimini Wellness Expo.  It was the first event of the 2023/24 HYROX season.  A further event has been announced, again in conjunction with Rimini Wellness, for 1st and 2nd June 2024.  This will be the final event of the 23/24 season aside from the 2024 HYROX World Championships.

Men’s Pro

The winner of the Men’s Pro race was Beau Wills in a time of 01:02:11. Second was Joe Bingham in 01:04:36. Rounding off the podium was Ivan Pranjic in 01:07:12.

Women’s Pro

The Women’s Pro race was won by Viola Oberländer in a time of 01:06:11. Camilla Massa was second in 01:09:00. Third place was taken by Sasha Aleksandra in 01:15:17. 

Men’s Open

Fastest of the day in the Men’s Open was Jaafar Moumen in a time of 01:00:43.  Second was Niklas Hirmke in 01:02:10 and third was Arne Vink in 01:04:49.

Women’s Open

It was an all Italian top three in the Women’s Open. The winner was Laura Bellomi in 01:09:34. Second was Camilla Contesso in 01:11:20. Third place was taken by Giada Gelonese in 01:12:28.

Doubles

The fastest Women’s doubles pairing of the day were Emma Grech and Raissa Camilleri in a time of 01:05:40. 

The Men’s Doubles was won by Arthur Barbey and Maxime Krantz in a time of 00:55:07.

The Mixed Doubles was won by Miriam Gualdi and Luca Cavicchiolo in 01:01:33.

World Record

A special mention goes to Michela Pieri, Giuseppe Spreafico, Eugenio Bianchi and Camilla Massa, who broke the Mixed Relay World Record in a time of 00:52.36.  The record was previously set at London Olympia by a team including our Rox Lyfe coachPaul Gillingham.

And finally…

An event in Italy couldn’t go by without a little romance. As he stood on the podium, Javier De Cepeda Hernandez propsed to his girlfriend.  She said yes! You can see the special moment in the below video…
