Barcelona hosted a HYROX race on 18th March 2023 at the Fira Barcelona.

Read on for the highlights of the day…

Men’s Pro

The big news from Barcelona was Hunter McIntyre smashing the World Record upon his return to the sport – in an INCREDIBLE time of 00:54:07. I got to speak with Hunter shortly afterwards, and you can see the interview here (or listen on the Rox Lyfe podcast).

Second and third place were both superb sub-60 times with Joffrey Voisin in 2nd place with a time of 00:56:46 and Jonathon Wynn in 3rd in 00:58:06

The performance from Hunter is simply incredible and makes him hot favourite to retain his title at the 2023 World Championship.  The closest anyone else has ever got to that time is 2.06m slower by Alexander Roncevic in Vienna 2023.  In the below image, we’ve compared Hunter’s record breaking performance against the median of the times from the other (current) Elite 15 athletes in the Men’s Pro division.  Across all sections of the race, he excels…

Rebecca shared her thoughts on the race with us afterwards in this video…
