The latest HYROX London event took place across 3 days from 29th November to 1st December 2024 at the London Excel.
HYROX announced the launch of a new ballot system for the public to purchase race tickets for the event.
This decision followed the surge in popularity in recent years, with participation levels growing by a staggering 1,000% since 2017. They say the ballot aimed to give prospective athletes a fairer chance at securing a race ticket.
HYROX events in London, in particular, have seen a huge spike in uptake; the 2023/24 London Olympia event boasted more than 12,500 athletes over a three-day period; close to double compared to the same event in 2023. Due to this unprecedented demand, a ballot system was, they say, the natural next step.
HYROX Co-Founder, Christian Tötzke said: “Our choice to introduce a ballot system for F45 HYROX London marks a significant step in enhancing our competitor experience and offering equal footing for every person wishing to take part in HYROX. Having to introduce a ballot system is testament to not only the growth of HYROX but society’s growing focus on the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle.”
In addition to the ballot announcement, HYROX named F45 – “the leading global fitness community specialising in innovative, functional group workouts” – as the official title sponsor for the event. This announcement was part of a wider global training partnership that sees F45 enter a two-year agreement with HYROX, now serving as an Official HYROX Training Partner.
*The HYROX and F45 Global partnership excludes Australia, New Zealand, Singapore
