HYROX are predicting continued high rates of growth as we head into the 2024/25 season.
Since its inception in Germany in 2017 (where the first race hosted fewer than 700 people), HYROX has exploded in popularity. Despite facing challenges due to Covid-19-related shutdowns in some of the intervening years, the sport has thrived, and its global footprint has expanded significantly
Approximately 175,000 athletes took part during the 2023/24, and HYROX are anticipating hosting a staggering 425,000 participants in the upcoming 24/25 season (over 100 percent, year over year, growth). 85 events are planned for the season, with debut races in South Africa and Canada already announced (amongst others).
Whilst growth has been global, the UK has been a particular success story. Its initial event, in September 2021, hosted 679 athletes, yet 3 day events during the 2024/25 season are expected to see approximately 15,000. This incredible demand has led to the introduce of a ballot system for the London event in November 2024.
