The next HYROX Stockholm event has been announced for 7th December 2024.

The previous event was on 2nd December 2023 at the Stockholmsmässan as part of the Fitness Festival.  The event featured the second Elite races of the HYROX 23/24 season. World Champions Hunter McIntyre and Lauren Weeks were racing, and the event was livestreamed by HYROX. I (Greg) was on the commentary team. If you missed it you can watch in the video below.  All the news, results and pictures from that event are shown below…

Elite Women

The Women’s Elite race was won by Megan Jacoby in an incredible World Record time of 00:58:52.

World Champion Lauren Weeks had to settle for second place – just as she did at the Chicago Major – completing the race in a time of 01:00:28.

Hot on Lauren’s heels was Linda Meier in 01:01:02 and Mikaela Norman in 01:01:32.

Fifth place was taken by Rebecca Mason in a time of 01:03:16 (a 35-39 age group world record).

As Megan, Lauren and Linda had already claimed their World Championship spots, the places from the Scandinavian Major rolled down meaning that both Mikaela and Rebecca also booked their spot in Nice next year.

Jezabel Kremer finished in 10th place in a brilliant 01:05:11, setting a new 40-44 Age Group World Record.

A special mention also needs to go to Amy Bevilacqua, who finished in 14th place in a brilliant time of 01:06:4.  Amy is the oldest ever Elite 15 athlete, aged 50 and with 5 children – what an incredible, inspiring achievement!

Elite Men

The Men’s Elite race was won by Hunter McIntyre in an unbelievable World Record time of 00:53:22, securing himself a spot at the World Championships in Nice in the process.

Alex Roncevic was in second place in 00:54:16 – just 9 seconds short of the previous World Record – showing that he will be a contender in Nice next year and that Hunter won’t have it all his own way.

Alex had already qualified for the World Championships, which therefore made the battle for 3rd and 4th place interesting for the final two places…

There was a 4 way fight for those positions at the Wall Balls between Beau Wills, Michael Sandbach (Sandy), James Kelly and Jon Wynn. Ultimately it was Beau and Michael who claimed the spots in time of 00:56:03 and 00:56:34 respectively.

Footage from both races can be watched in the video below…

Women’s Pro

The Women’s Pro was won by Helena Falk in a time of 01:13:10.

Second was Camilla Åbergh in 01:14:25, closely followed by Frida Friström in a time of 01:14:52

Men’s Pro

The Men’s Pro was won by Aitor Lizarazu in a time of 00:58:55

Third place was taken by Erik Woodward in 01:00:27.

Women’s Open

The Women’s Open was won by Lienke De Jong in a time of 01:05:08.

Third place was taken by Charlotte Burnett in 01:07:13.

Men’s Open

The Men’s Open was won by Clemens Scherbel in a time of 00:59:03.

Second was Thomas Green in 01:01:01, closely followed by Jamie Pollock in 01:01:34.

Doubles

The Men’s Doubles was won by Joakim Svederman and Carl Laurell in a time of 00:55:52.

The Women’s Doubles was won by Melissa Post and Miriam Slot in a time of 01:02:05.

The Mixed Doubles was won by Ulf Petersen and Madeleine Larsson in a time of 00:56:51.

A mention must go to Árdís Lára Gísladóttir and Ásta Katrn Helgadttir for breaking the Women’s 60-69 Age Group World Record in a time of 01:22:35 (beating the previous record set just last weekend in London.)
