The latest HYROX Berlin event was held on 20th April 2024 at the iconic and unique Tempelhof Airport.  It was a largely outdoor event and just 1 lap of the old runway was required per km run (which is very rare in HYROX).

It was an extremely impressive looking venue / setup, and by all accounts an absolutely fantastic day. HYROX had done a great job of setting up the venue, and subtle touches so as the registration desk being at the old airport registration desks really added to the unique feel of the day.

Faster Times?

Presumably due to the cooler temperature (with it being outside) and just 1 lap per run (less corner turning), on a wide running track (less busy), times across the day were relatively fast when compared to other HYROX events, with many athletes setting new PB’s.  Of course, no venue is exactly the same in HYROX, which means that you can sometimes get courses that seem slower or faster than normal.  We put up the below post on our Instagram account that gives an idea of the effect on times from the unique set up of this brilliant event.
