Meet the Team
Greg Williams
Rox Lyfe Founder, Nutritionist, HYROX Geek
Since discovering fitness racing, I’ve studied the demands endlessly and improved my HYROX finishing time by 20+ minutes, qualified for the past 3 HYROX World Championships, and I commentate, for HYROX, on the Elite races.
Race tactics, interpreting race data, nutrition, hybrid training, performance mindset – I’m obsessed with it all, and we can use that, in combination with your personalised training programme, designed for you by our experienced coach athlete, to maximise your performance.
Paul Gillingham
Athlete and Coach, HYROX Addict
A personal trainer for over 17 years, Paul is one of the few people in the world as obsessed with HYROX as me (Greg)!
He has been on the podium many times, has set one of the fastest ever times in his age group, and is an age group HYROX World Record holder.
He has extensive coaching knowledge and race experience, and has helped a huge number of clients drastically improve their performance. He combines that with being one of the most friendly, honest and approachable people you could hope to meet.

I initially contacted Greg and Paul 9 weeks out from my first HYROX. I had a 30-minute phone call with Paul and told him about my ambitions of getting as close to the hour as possible in the Men’s Pro race. 9 weeks wasn’t an ideal timeframe, but Paul got to work and after the first 2 weeks of training I quickly realised how ill prepared I would’ve been without his coaching.
I opted for the option where Paul would send me the sessions for the week, and I could fit in the sessions alongside daily life. I was able to compete at 3 different HYROX races in quick succession (Mel,Syd,Bne) without getting burnt out or over trained. The sessions have great variation and definitely test the limits.
Paul has been fantastic through the whole process, answers any questions, randomly would send me advice, always first to message me after an event congratulating me. His passion for the sport definitely shines through and without his coaching I wouldn’t have been able to qualify for the Worlds at my first HYROX.
Totally recommend Paul’s coaching and I’ll be back for more leading into Worlds.
The Rox Lyfe program is designed to not only improve your performance in HYROX, but also make it enjoyable. I found myself looking forward to the sessions because they are so varied, challenging and rewarding. Paul is also very responsive and understanding of your needs as an individual. He can dial the program up or down depending on how you are feeling, and make it flexible to work on your weaknesses. Ultimately, he is very supportive – whether you are going for an elite time or just trying to get through it. Working with Paul, I managed to save 7 minutes on my last HYROX time, I enjoyed it far more, and I feel fitter all round. Paul is a fantastic coach.
I really liked the fact that Paul was available for any clarification or questions, he responded very quick and was always friendly, kind and helpful!
Another thing I would like to complement you two on, is that the training sessions didn’t cause me any health issues and still were tough (which I like). Before I contacted you, I was making my own schedules but I didn’t properly separate strength and endurence sessions from the real HYROX sessions. So I was always pushing for the maximum on all fronts, almost every session. In hindsight I think this is what caused me to feel ‘kind of ill’ all the time. When I contacted you, this was because I was done being under the weather all the time, but at the same time I was really worried you wouldn’t let me do ‘all out sessions’, which I really like. I was very happy when i found out I’d still be working really hard, just different.
Thank you for the help and support over the last months! I really had a great time towards the WC!
This is the first time I’ve ever had a HYROX or event specific trainer and it’s been brilliant. Paul worked with me to understand my goals and created a great plan building me up from training in January to event ready in April. The sessions have been varied and really engaging and have been enjoyable so didn’t feel like such a chore. He has been at hand for any questions I have about exercises, clothing, supplements and then especially useful to me, event readiness information the week or two before the event. Before my race I felt completely ready to tackle what was coming and I came away with a 13 minute PB! Thanks Paul!!
I signed up for my first HYROX race about six weeks prior to race day. With a race so grueling, I knew that proper training would be vital to success in the sport. And as a newcomer, other than making myself do burpee broad jumps until I passed out, I didn’t really know where to start. I decided to sign up for personalized coaching through Rox Lyfe and am so happy I did. Paul and Greg work as a team, with Paul providing personalized training plans designed to fit your schedule and HYROX goals. Greg is a certified nutritionist and provides tons of support and post-race analysis to help with your progress. Thanks to the killer Rox Lyfe training programs, I shocked myself by winning my age group in my first ever HYROX race and qualifying for the World Championships. The outreach and support from both Paul and Greg has been amazing, and we are just getting started. They are extremely passionate about HYROX and are committed to growing the sport. Working with both of them has been an absolute pleasure, and I can’t wait to continue this journey and see where it takes us.
I signed up for personalized training following my first HYROX race in April ’23 and am so happy that I did. After almost 12 months in the Rox Lyfe stable I’ve not only improved my PB (by 14 minutes) but at the ripe old age of 47, I can hand on heart say that I’ve never been as fit, energized and healthy.
Paul is an awesome coach, always available and always encouraging. Programs are continually challenging and progressive, I find myself looking forward to the weekly messages with the weeks programming coming through. I’ve had a couple of niggles on the journey, but Paul was able to adapt my programming to suit.
Probably one of the things that comes across from Paul and Greg most is their love of the sport, but specifically their obvious enthusiasm and excitement they have seeing their clients develop.
I would happily recommend Rox Lyfe to anyone wanting to improve their HYROX performance.
Paul has been a fantastic coach. Working with him has honestly been way above and beyond what I had expected. The attention to detail and the support has been another level. I find him very easy work with and he listens too if I need something changing for a reason. He is amazing at getting the best out of me, knowing when to push me, when to rein me back in. I feel more focused than ever and have more structure than I have ever had before. My performance is increasing weekly and it’s exciting to see how far we can push me. The best part is Paul is so enthusiastic and excited for me and my training, it’s lovely to have someone in it with you who gives you 110%. Everything is geared towards what I specifically need. I would highly recommend the Rox Lyfe coaching to anyone looking to improve their performance and I am very happy to have Paul in my team.
One of the standout qualities of Paul is his remarkable flexibility and adaptability. He consistently accommodated my unique needs and scheduling constraints, making every training session tailored to my specific goals. Whether it involved altering workout plans or adjusting session times to fit my demanding schedule, Paul’s commitment to my progress never wavered.
Paul’s extensive knowledge of Hyrox and fitness, combined with his exceptional coaching skills, has proven invaluable. He not only imparted technical expertise but also instilled in me the importance of discipline and consistency in training. His coaching extended beyond physical fitness, encompassing mental and emotional support, which has been integral to my journey.
What really distinguishes Paul is the rapport we’ve developed. He is not only a coach but has become a friend. Our sessions are not only challenging but enjoyable, and I eagerly anticipate each one. This trust and camaraderie have created an environment where I can openly discuss my goals and limitations without hesitation.
Paul’s dedication to my success, his expertise, and his unwavering support have played a pivotal role in helping me achieve my fitness goals and enhance my HYROX performance. I can confidently assert that I would not have made the progress I have without his guidance.
A friend and I decided to try our hand at our first HYROX event. I initially stumbled through many videos and HYROX oriented pages to learn how I should train but was unsure if I could get prepared in time. I then found Paul as a recommended coach but saw that he only had limited availability. I thought that if he would be willing to work with me that it was a sign I could actually get race ready. He accepted me as a client and it was the best decision for my HYROX training ever. Paul perfectly structured a plan for me that challenged me and was able to quickly prepare me for my event. I cannot say enough positive words about him. He gracefully navigated my aches, pains, and frustrations as I began this new sport. And Greg was able to masterfully button up my nutrition and supplements. Even though I started with them only 9 weeks out, I arrived on race day feeling confident and optimistic. I had a great race and am already looking forward to improving at my next event. These two guys are rockstars! They are the best guides to have on your team as you tackle the grueling HYROX!
With its kick off in 11/2022, HYROX is fairly new in Hong Kong hence the racing concept (e.g. compromised running) is new territory. Before I signed up for my first race, I did some research and found Roxlyfe.com. It’s the most extensive source I have found so far (articles & podcasts) and provides not only racing hints & tips for newbies and seasoned racers, but also interesting stats on previous races which are valuable when it comes to strategizing for your race. Kuddos to Greg for his fab work helping me w/ my race prep.
As I had to adjust my training routine and shift focus from powerlifting to a more anaerobic/hybrid training style, I was happy to have found Paul as my coach via RoxLyfe. I’m glad that I’m able to benefit from his profound racing experiences. And, although we have a time difference between UK and HK, we have almost daily check-in’s about training progress, adjustments or general wellbeing. Having worked with multiple PT’s/coaches before, I wanted a coach who has practical experiences in hybrid racing and coaches holistically (training, recovery, mindset). Paul ticks all the boxes; he programs my training according to my weaknesses, prescribes me down times when needed and is lots of fun to work with over the past 4 months. I can’t wait for my 1st race; guess I’ll be racing for the 2 of us😊
Long story short: If you want to remove any guessing from your training prep and focus on what really matters, I strongly recommend to get professional advice. Hybrid racing requires a specific training plan combining running and strength exercise, you’ll save lots of planning time and can solely focus on your progress. Enjoy your journey!
I have competed most of my life, however, it started very differently with horses and competing in Dressage, from a my teenage years and I did that for over 20 years. I then became a mum and decided to try triathlons, a bit of marathon running, swim-runs, and some longer distance swimming. I found Hyrox through CrossFit but I much prefer it because of the running element. The sport has taken me to 5 different countries so far this year and I still have Dublin, LA in December, the Europeans next year in Vienna and Glasgow again, where I am doing my first Pro race, but it combines my love of sport and seeing the world! I never ever imagined I could do a Pro race but Paul has improved the confidence I have in my ability and I am now ready to take it on!** I train hard, but I love it, and as a result me and my other half have qualified for the world championships in Nice next year. The fact that I can do it with him makes it all the more rewarding and fun, even though it still hurts like hell! 😁
Very happy with the coaching – Paul’s been fantastic, always on hand for any questions I had and I honestly don’t think I’d be fit enough for it if it wasn’t for his programming!
I had the privilege of working with Coach Paul in preparation for the HYROX competition, and I can’t emphasize enough how instrumental he was in my journey to success. His coaching not only helped me qualify for the World Championships of HYROX but also transformed me as an athlete and an individual.
What I loved about Paul’s coaching is that he took the time to create a customized workout plans that aligned with me schedule and preferences. He didn’t just hand me a generic training regimen; he took the time to understand my unique needs and goals and favorite workouts. This personalized approach made all the difference in my performance and motivation.
Paul’s positive attitude is contagious. Whether I faced setbacks or achieved milestones, he remained a constant source of encouragement and support. His unwavering belief in my abilities pushed me to surpass my own expectations. I never felt alone in this journey because Paul was always there to celebrate the highs and navigate the lows with me.
If you’re searching for a coach who can help you achieve your fitness goals and inspire you to become the best version of yourself, and hold you accountable Paul’s your guy. Thank you, Paul, for being a remarkable coach and mentor!
I started working with Paul when a friend in the gym encouraged me to enter HYROX London. My competitive background is in bike racing and triathlon, I rarely lost a race and I coached myself. After a bike crash in 2010 I retired from competition and drifted between jogging and the gym with little or no motivation. I decided with my zero knowledge of HYROX that I should work with a coach to help guide me through the process and the training. I chose Rox Lyfe after researching a few coaches as they seemed to have a really friendly yet professional approach. I wondered how it would work having always set my own training plan but from my first phone call with Paul I knew I had done the right thing! He is very knowledgeable on all things HYROX! Paul totally understood where I was at with my then current training (virtually non existent!). He set me realistic and achievable sessions which really boosted me back into my competitive mindset. Each week I have progression and targets, especially with my running. Paul is a legend himself, competing regularly in HYROX races so he knows exactly what his athletes are going through which I absolutely love. He is always only a message away whenever I have a problem, he give’s amazing technique advice which I find so helpful. If you haven’t been coached before I can highly recommend Paul! I only hope that I make him proud of me in November!!!
Paul has been fantastic to work with and helped a huge amount in getting me ready for the race. Love him and the service, and am in the process of recruiting a few friends into HYROX and will definitely be recommending the coaching to them too.
We’ve been working with Roxlyfe since March and joined with hopes to improve our overall doubles HYROX time.
During the initial call with Paul, we set a goal to run a Sub 1 hour race! At the time, this felt very daunting as we’d recently just ran a 1:07.52 race and 8 minutes is a lot of time to shave off…
During the training, I fell victim to an injury. Paul was very supportive, we worked out a plan where I could still train and improve through forms of exercise that wouldn’t put unnecessary strain on it.
After 9 months of training we managed to achieve not only a Sub 1 hour but ran a time of 58:25!! Smashing our personal best!
Thanks guys!! The near enough 24/7 help and support has been really appreciated. We’ve both gained a solid idea of how to train for HYROX and both look forward to our future in this sport!
