Centr x HYROX Official Competition Equipment was the backbone behind more than 100 events in over 30 countries in the 25/26 Season and will be in over 125 events across six continents in the 26/27 Season, battle-tested by more than 2 million athletes from first-time competitors to World Championship finalists.
As HYROX scales, upholding competition standards is a key objective. With global participation rising 163% year-on-year, the intensity and frequency of equipment use have also increased. With the introduction of the Official Competition Turf in 2025, the friction coefficient between the Official Competition Power Sled and Turf can be strategically maintained by managing the Power Sled’s wear and tear.
To improve global standardization of the friction coefficient, Centr x HYROX has developed replaceable blades called “Sled Blades.” The Sled Blades can be swapped out quickly at HYROX races and present a cost-effective solution for commercial operators worldwide. The second-generation Power Sled carries the same base as the existing Sled design with an all-new replaceable blade system.
The new Power Sled is not a redesign; it will have the same look, feel, and weight as the first-generation version, therefore creating parity with current race standards while offering improved performance consistency. Sled Blades, compatible with the second-generation Power Sled, minimize operational waste, offering operators a solution that requires minimal changeover and less equipment investment. Furthermore, Centr x HYROX will offer a Sled Blade subscription solution for HYROX Training Clubs and commercial gyms to replace blades based on membership usage, extending the equipment’s overall lifespan. Suggested Sled Blade commercial use is approximately 10,000 meters. For a gym with 200 active athletes, that typically means replacing blades every 30 days.
